SAMSUNG CAMERA PICTURESColombian Kids Visiting the United States

The Emiliani Project will be bringing three lucky kids from the home in Colombia to visit us here in Southern California July 22 – August 5.  From left to right in the picture, Camila Montoya (age 13), Sara Perez (age 11), Isabella Cardenas (age 12), and  were selected as a reward for excellent grades, citizenship and behavior.  For two weeks we will be showing them all the fun and educational experiences that Southern California has to offer!

We need your help on the trip.  100% of their travel costs will be funded through donation.  If you wish to support the trip, please visit our Donate Now page on our website, or send your check to The Emiliani Project, 9310 Tech Center Drive, Suite 240, Sacramento, CA 95826.  Remember to put “KIDS TO US” in the notes so we know your donation is specifically for this trip.  Accommodations for their stay will be generously provided by Saint Margaret Parish in Oceanside.  If you are in the area and wish to join us on our adventures with the kids, visit our Contact Us page or email us at info@emilianiproject.org.

It will be an experience of a lifetime for these kids!  Please help us to make it happen.

Seeking Volunteers for our next Mission Trip to Colombia

Our next volunteer trip to Colombia is scheduled for December 1st to 14th, 2014.  The trip will offer volunteers the ability to help with the construction of our new home as well as work directly with the kids we support.  No skills are required and you don’t have to speak Spanish.  You will have the opportunity to work on the construction site, teach classes for the children, help the administrators with operations of the home, or simply spend time with these great kids.

For more information, contact Chuck Navarrete at: missions@emilianiproject.org or (760) 470-0425.

Gilberto Dark Roast is Here!

Our next Gilberto dark roast will be available at the end of the month.  Our new roast features 10yr old Gilberto Elias Graciano.  Gilberto was abandoned by his father when he was born and later by his mother at the age of 7.  Two years ago his uncle brought Gilberto to live at the Hogar Bohio de Maria children’s home near Medellin, Colombia.  Gilberto is a great kid and this is a great coffee.

Join us at our Gilberto coffee bagging party on June 22, 2014 at the Saint Mary Star of the Sea Center at 515 Per View Way Oceanside, CA between 11am and 2pm.  We’re going to have a great time weighing, grinding and packaging coffee ready for sale!
