Happy New Year 2021 to All!
2020 was a very difficult year for us all, especially for children everywhere. But because of your generosity last year we were able to provide for the 170 children our Hogar. Because of Covid-19 we were not allowed to travel to Colombia in the summer of 2020 to work on the new home (see pictures below). However, again, because of your generosity we were able to contract for the construction of the foundations of the buildings we had planned for 2020 and pre-position the materials for completion of the public rest rooms and even for some of the 2021 buildings.
The good news is that we already have clearance to return this July to complete construction on those structures that were scheduled for last year and those scheduled for this year. So, that puts us back on schedule.
The children are doing exceptionally well with some graduating, getting jobs, and joining the larger community, while new children are being added. We have several “children” that were accepted to University and will remain at the home to help care for other children paying back and paying forward.
We ask that you continue your generosity for this worthy cause and invite you to join us this summer if you would like to roll up your sleeves and see what 20 or so dedicated workers can get done in just a little more than a week. The benefits to the children are life-long and the benefits to you are everlasting and simply cannot be put into words.
Thank you for all that you have done so far, it has been truly amazing and thank you in advance for what you will do. Click here if you have questions about joining our work group this summer. To donate please click the Donate link above.
God Bless all of you and all that you do,
Jim
